What does getting ready for Ocean Day look like?

First week of May

Teams will receive email communications from their team lead about the opportunity to meet up via zoom and learn more about how to prepare for your lobby meetings.

RSVP is required so that you can be put into a lobby team and coordinate together the week before the event.

May 5

4 PM: Film screening of Sequoias of the Sea

Location: Auditorium at the CA Natural Resource Agency building

6 PM: Informal Gathering

For people in Sacramento the night before the big day, we'll meet up at Thirtyfour Méxican Cantina for an informal hangout and the chance to meet each other. This is a no-host bar, come if you're around!

9 AM: Welcome

Join us to hear from Assemblymember Dawn Addis, recipient of last year's Ocean Champion award

Advocacy teams will attend 2-4 lobby meetings throughout the day from 10 AM - 5 PM and are encouraged to attend other Ocean Day programming as available

10:30 AM: Press Conference Waves of Advocacy, Oceans of Opportunity

Location: West Side Capitol Steps

All available should gather for press event and taking photos

11:45 AM: Beach Party

Location: The Cactus Garden (Area 5 in Capitol Park)
Join us at lunch to hear from Samantha Murray & Celebrate the California coast with interactive exhibits, plus a chance to query ocean policy professionals and get inspired by like-minded ocean-lovers, all with a delicious lunch!
